Welcome
As of July 1, 2023, the Good Landlordship Act went into effect!
This law gives municipalities more opportunities to protect tenants from abuses when renting residential or lodging spaces. By introducing a standard for good landlordship and allowing municipalities to require a rental permit, municipalities can actively manage good landlordship.
There will be a basic national standard for good landlordship in the form of general rules. These standards address the behavior that can be expected of good landlords and rental intermediaries in relation to house seekers and tenants.
Gemeente Maastricht immediately commits to an accessible, free hotline so that tenants can make their reports.
Together against discrimination, harassment and high security deposits.
Together for correct leases, clear rental agreements and fair annual statements.
Make a report
Would you like to make a report or perhaps ask for (anonymous) advice regarding the conduct of landlord and/or rental agent? You can!
After filling out a report, an employee of Meldpunt Goed Verhuurderschap Maastricht will contact you to discuss your report. We ask you to fill in as much information as possible so that we can provide you with a faster and more targeted service.
What we do
Advice
At the Meldpunt, all tenants, house seekers, local residents and others can go with signals and complaints about undesirable behavior by landlords or rental intermediaries. As such, the Meldpunt forms the basis for municipal enforcement.
Support
After submitting a report regarding the conduct of landlord and/or rental intermediary, the Meldpunt will assist in providing the appropriate supporting documents so that the report is immediately properly received by Municipality Maastricht.
Forwarding
If that complaint does not lead to a report, the Meldpunt can refer to other competent bodies if necessary, such as Huurteam Zuid-Limburg, RADAR, the housing associations' complaints committee, the Juridisch Loket.
